About Me

I qualified as a physiotherapist from Manchester Metropolitan University and have over 10 years’ clinical experience. I hold a Masters Degree in Advanced Clinical Practice (manipulative therapy) and to compliment my Pilates practice my dissertation investigated exercise in chronic low back pain. I have taught manual therapy and approaches to pregnancy related pelvic girdle pain to the undergraduate and Masters physiotherapy programmes at Teeside University.

As a part time senior physiotherapist in the NHS I work with a variety of GP and consultant referrals that include routine and sports injury, post-operative, pre/post-natal presentations as well as running a spinal rehabilitation class.

My private practice is based in the Blackwell Business Centre in Darlington.  I welcome patients to my treatment room and provide occupational health physiotherapy for a Morrison’s Supermarket Distribution centre. I also provide physiotherapy, Pilates and strength and conditioning to Darlington Gymnastics Club and Richmond Triathlon Club.

Professional membership includes the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), the Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP) and registration with the Health and Care Professionals council (HCPC).

I am a Coach in Running Fitness for the Quakers Running Club and enjoy the challenges of trail and fell running and have appreciated first-hand the frustrations of soft tissue and bony running injuries.

I can assess and treat a wide range of musculoskeletal disorders such as:

  • Spinal and peripheral joint pain
  • Muscular/ligament soft tissue dysfunction
  • Pre and post-operative presentations
  • Running injuries, running gait dysfunction and gait retraining
  • Pre and post-natal pregnancy related low back/pelvic pain

Whatever your problem, pain or performance issue, I can help and I offer a personal, friendly service which begins with a no-obligation chat.
